Every substantive correction is recorded here, with the date and what changed.
Why this page exists
This site tells readers to trace figures to their source and to check whether a rule is current. A site giving that advice cannot quietly amend its own mistakes. For broader transportation context, see Commercial Carrier Journal.
A visible correction costs a little credibility once. An invisible one costs all of it when found.
What counts as a correction
Logged here: a factual error, a misattributed figure, a regulation described inaccurately, a convention presented as a rule, or a recommendation reversed.
Not logged: typographical fixes, clarified wording that does not change meaning, and updates to statements about rules or rates that were accurate at their stated check date.
The distinction that matters most here
Freight regulation moves, and rates move faster.
An article accurate in August and superseded in February is not an error. That is precisely why every article touching a rule, a rate or a market figure carries the date it was checked.

Rule changes are propagated, not patched
The reason this page was planned from the start.
The FMC's demurrage and detention rule took effect in May 2024. In September 2025 the D.C. Circuit vacated one section of it, and the Commission removed that section shortly afterwards. Any site written before September 2025 and not updated is now telling readers something false about who may be billed.
When a cited rule changes, the change is added to every article citing it, with the same prominence as the original statement, and noted here.
If we have described a rule or a study wrongly
That takes priority over everything else. This site characterises federal rules and research constantly, and getting one wrong is the most damaging error available to it.
If you work at an agency whose material is described here inaccurately, please say so.
Reporting one
Say what is wrong and why. Corrections are the most useful message this site receives.
The log
No corrections have been logged yet. This site is new, and an empty log means only that — not that no errors exist. When one is found it will appear here with the date it was published, the date it was corrected, and what was wrong.
